1. Martyrs’ Memorial 

Maqam Echahid, also known as Riadh El Feth, is a memorial built in the shape of three palm leaves to commemorate the Algerian Revolution. This ancient monument was built in 1982 on the twentieth anniversary of Algeria’s independence. Each of these leaves symbolizes one of the three eras of the liberation war and each is 97 meters high. Inside these leaves at the bottom there is a space dedicated to praying for the souls of the martyrs during official visits and occasions. Since its construction and until today, Maqam Echahid has been the monument that tells the world about the Algerian Revolution, the narrator of the stories of the martyrs’ sacrifices, and the towering landmark that lights up the sky of the capital of Algeria.

1. Casbah

You cannot visit Algiers without passing through the Casbah district, which is an old city built in the Ottoman era about three centuries ago. The Casbah was built at the top of the city to be the seat of the Sultan at the time and later became a residence for Algerians during the years of French colonialism. When you visit this old district, you will be amazed by the ancient architecture and narrow historical alleys, in addition to its inlaid doors and magnificent palaces. It is without a doubt an important tourist and historical landmark that attracts tourists from all over Algeria.

3. Bardo Museum

This museum is located in a multi-storey palace built during the Ottoman rule. The museum was established in 1930 and houses many ancient historical artifacts from prehistoric and ethnographic eras. The museum is surrounded by large halls and spaces in addition to decorated courtyards. When visiting the museum, you can first see the surrounding palace, which bears the architecture of the Ottoman era. Then, walk around the museum and see the ancient pieces dating back to prehistoric times. You can also see many ethnographic artifacts that display the activities that people practiced in previous centuries.

4. Army Museum

The Army Museum, located in Riad El Feth, depicts the heroism of the Algerian people in the cause of freedom by displaying many pictures of martyrs in addition to many weapons and military armor. This exhibition contains large exhibition halls from the inside, as there are halls displaying pictures of martyrs with their names mentioned and other halls displaying weapons and aircraft used, in addition to miniature models and ancient artifacts. The museum also includes many relics of the late President Houari Boumediene.

5. Ben Aknoun Zoo and Amusement Park

The city of Algiers is not only about museums and historical monuments, but it also provides places for entertainment and fun, and the Ben Aknoun Zoo and Amusement Park is one example of these places. The park was opened in 1978 and extends over vast green spaces. The park is divided into two sections, one section includes the zoo where you can see many different animals such as elephants, horses, lions, bears, birds and many other species. In the other section of the park there is an amusement park and various games suitable for all ages and make you spend a fun time. The park also includes two hotels and many restaurants.

6. Experimental Garden

It is difficult to describe this garden, as it is one of the most beautiful places you will visit in the Algerian capital. This garden is located in the heart of the capital, and is a natural museum of hundreds of perennial plants and trees. This garden, which extends over a vast area, is one of the largest gardens in Africa and is characterized by its fresh and cool air. There is a long pond in the middle of the garden and you can see the French and British style in the garden. There is also a zoo where you can see many types of animals in their natural environments.

7. Al-Rayyas Palace
Palais des Rais, or Bastion 23, is a historical palace complex located in the Kasbah of Algiers in the Algerian capital, Algiers. The palace, which consists of 3 palaces and 6 houses, was built during the Ottoman era, specifically in 1576 AD by Dey Ramdhan Pasha, to strengthen and reinforce the defenses and maritime protection of the city. The name of Bastion 23 was given to the palace following the construction of the ramparts during French colonization. The palace was completely restored between 1986 and 1992 and was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 as part of Kasbah of Algiers
